EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT

IPECC is now a Canadian not-for-profit corporation: IPECC-CANADA

This is a major step forward for IPECC, and probably the most significant event in IPECC’s history since the organization was originally established in 1974.

The creation of IPECC-CANADA does not change the curriculum development process in any way. There are still sub-committees, an annual curriculum development conference, and approval of curriculum changes by voting delegates from each of Canada’s provinces and territories.

We have also launched an entirely new website that serves as the central information portal for IPECC: www.ipecc-canada.ca. This website also provides insight on the role of IPECC, which has historically been poorly understood by most Power Engineers and Refrigeration Operators.

The Benefits of Incorporation

Incorporation will provide future financial sustainability and avoid personal financial risk to individual conference organizers.

Most importantly, it will allow us to continue ensuring the safety of our colleagues and the public, through ongoing improvements to the education of both prospective and current Power Engineers and Refrigeration Operators.

Sustaining membership will be offered to individuals and stakeholders that benefit from IPECC’s work.  Their annual membership fees will provide most of the funding required to make IPECC financially viable. Sustaining members will also elect the 6 directors who will govern the affairs of IPECC-CANADA.

Annual Curriculum Development Conference

I am also pleased to announce that this year’s annual curriculum conference will take place on June 19 & 20, 2023. The conference will be virtual, as it has been for the past several years, but we hope our funding efforts can successfully support a physical conference in 2024. Keep an eye on our new website for information to come.

Best Regards,
